Yes, this is a 1968 Fender Telecaster bass. And yes, there are MANY mods, which I'll go through below. But first off, I need to say this is a great playing bass, and sounds amazing as well! I just have TOO MANY BASSES!!!!!!Here are the mods-Lots of routing to the body, many of which have been filled- very nicely I might add.
The Badass bridge has been routed down into the body as well.
The control cavity has been enlarged to accommodate the tele styly jack plate, enabling a switch to be mounted and a battery to live in there.
The jack (which I ran out of photo space for) is a four screw plate over the original hole, not drilled out.I believe the finish is original.
The neck is original, but the tuners were changed out. Luckily they did not drill out the holes, and only two small holes are on the back, which would be covered by the original tuners should you decide to go that route.Basically, this a total early 80's upgrade to a vintage bass- they were only worth a couple hundred bucks then! Badass bridge, active pickups, better tuners etc. Very nice playing and sounding bass- much more modern, usable with a fantastic old neck and body.I live an hour north of LA- come pick it up for free!
