Here I have an original, 1965, Gibson LG-0 guitar. These guitars are very sought after for their quality of workmanship and sound. This one has been brought back to life. At one point there was damage around the neck block from the brace coming loose and the neck coming forward into the soundhole. This has since been professionally repaired. Repaired cracks on either side of the fingerboard extension are still visible as are the cracks on either side of the neck heel. A design was painted on the rear of the guitar after repairs were completed to match the original stripes alongside the neck. A Mahogany veneer was also placed inside the guitar over the break. Two other cracks were repaired. One is on the top next to the left waist and another extends from under the soundhole. These Gibsons originally came with plastic bridges which usually warp and break over time. An ebony bridge was made for the guitar using the original as a template. This bridge not only improves the playability and sound, but also strengthens the top. The truss rod still works and the neck is fairly straight. The action is 4/32" off the octave. A new acrylic pickguard was made for it as well. This is now an awesome guitar with a story to tell.
