Here's a very rare find - a PROTOTYPE Gibson ES339 flametop from circa 2006-2007. Gorgeous wide flame on the top, sides, and back accented by the rich vintage burst finish. Looks like a one piece top and a one piece back, which is very unusual.The back of the headstock is ink-stamped PROTOTYPE, and this is also indicated on the interior label. Below the neck joint on the back, there is also a "101" label under the finish (hard to capture in a pic). I'm assuming this is a serial number or internal tracking number - very unusual.Note that this guitar has the Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock, not the more common "Custom" logo you see on normal factory-issued ES339s.This guitar is all original and in excellent condition with no mods or repairs. Typical light handling and play wear - the worst is some worming in the clear coat on the back.Playability and tone are excellent. I'd describe the sound as halfway between an ES335 and a historic Les Paul. Light fret wear, but nothing that affects playability. This is a very comfortable guitar due to the smaller size.Includes a non-original hardshell case - looks like a 70's Ibanez Artist case. We will pack very well to ensure safe arrival.
