Please read my 3 days return policy at the bottom of the page.If you'd like to see pictures of over 500 classical & flamenco guitars that I've sold in the past, please visit "Victor's Guitar Gallery" on Facebook Yamaha FC36 Flamenco Concert GuitarThis guitar model was being made between years 1986-1993 by Yamaha Corporation and never distributed in USA. It was made at Yamaha’s Taiwanese “factory”. It is absolutely very high grade flamenco concert guitar! Its MSRP was 350 000 yen. Made at the same time at Yamaha’s Hamamatsu factory, model FC46 (MSRP 460 000 yen) and FC50 (MSRP 500 000 yen) were of exactly the same quality, just priced higher.Japanese guitar factory (Gakki) as company name can be quite misleading for many unaware guitar lovers. These Japanese workshops were no different from any other luthier’s workshops. The difference was that instead of being led by one Master Luthier (owner) they employed a team of equally skilled luthiers, working together and supporting each other in order to produce a “perfect” product. These luthiers (often times not known by their individual name), represented their company (the label), were totally loyal to the bosses (owners) and had to put their egos aside. Only the best of the best were allowed to put their signatures on the labels. To the contrary to what many unexperienced buyers believe, Yamaha’s factory in Taiwan was no different from Yamaha’s factory in Japan, it employed Taiwanese and Japanese luthiers, who were making very high grade guitars, just at lower cost. This particluar guitar was made by Taiwanese luthier who definitely has outgrown his master (and the best Japanese luthier Yamaha ever had) Mr.Toshihiro Kato. Today prices of similar grade Yamaha Flamenco guitars made in Japan start from $6000.00This guitar remains in truly excellent condition. It doesn’t have any cosmetic flaws that would be visible without a magnifying glass. It is in perfect working condition. Picture #9 reveals light cloudiness within the finish on the back of the neck. It is only visible in very intensive camera’s flash light, but is completely not visible in regular light. This guitar plays easy and sounds fantastic. It is very light and super-responsive and loud. It produces traditional flamenco sound with raspy, almost metallic basses, clear ringing trebles, all well balanced with very impressive sustain. Its action is set to 2.50 mm under E6 and 2.00 mm under E1. You’ll be surprised how many “Spanish made” “flamencos” can’t be set to such low action without terrible buzzes. In order to achieve such low action slotted part of the bridge has been sand down by 2 mm. SPECIFICATIONS: FC36 Year(s) Sold: 1986-93 Top: Solid Yezo Spruce Shellac or light coat of lacquer Back / Sides: Solid Canadian Cypress Very light coat of lacquer Neck: Honduras Mahogany Fingerboard: Ebony Bridge: Jacaranda Color(s): Natural String Length: 650mm Notes: Hand Crafted
