The 1974 Ovation model # 1127-4 Glen Campbell Artist Balladeer is an acoustic roundback guitar with a 5 piece neck. Its features include:
5 1/8" deep bowlNatural B Barnwood finish Raised floral rosetteBound ebony fret board Bound neckMother of Pearl diamond fret marker inlays Grover gold plated tuners Walnut bridge The face of this guitar is smooth as glass with only one hair-line laquer crack beneath and in alignment with the strings. It runs from the roesette to bridge and does not effect playabiity or tone in any way and is normal for a guitar of this age. The guitars decreased bowl depth has some nice effects on the bass end and overall volume when compared to the Ovation Legend. The more shallow bowl also increases comfort when holding and playing the guitar. Somebody took very good care of this guitar and It was definitely played. Some of the laquer on the back of the neck near the head stock has been worn off. Again, no effect on playability or tone but since this is a 5 piece neck, with the laquer worn at the headstock you can feel the seams of the different wood pieces. Please see pics concerning this. The truss rod is responsive and the neck is straight. Also included is the original hard shell case that came with the 11274. These older Ovation hard shell cases are tanks with a plush interior. This one has solid hardware and does not have any cracks or dings. There is no key to the case.
