Description

  Original vintage 1966 Fender Jazzmaster
Body, fully loaded and working:
Body has been refinished (in original color Sage/Sherwood Green) in poly. Original pickups, rhythm circuit pots, shield, knobs, bridge, strap buttons and screws, neck plate with screws, tailpiece, etc. Pickguard COULD be original or not. Saddles are newer. Big vol/tone pots are new . 3-way switch  Ok.Minor scratches only.
The neck  is an original 1966 Fender Jazzmaster maple neck with rosewood fretboard. It's been stamped 13FEB66B, which yes, means that it originally should've been a Stratocaster neck. If you do some research, you'll find out that in early '66 Fender intended to "pimp" the Strat a bit with a new bound fretboard. The idea turned out to be unpractical because of the extra work involved, so only a handful of these "dots & bound" Strats came outta the factory - one famously made it into the hands of Ry Cooder.
The dots are in good shape, nice and shiny, the truss rod works a-OK (no need to adjust anything here so far), and I'll leave the original string tree on it, too.
Sadly, the guitar (and its neck/headstock) were at some point refinished (probably due to wear and tear), TRYING to achieve a proper color match - which seemed to be a bit too difficult for the refinisher. Yes the original Fender Jazzmaster logo (the über-rare GOLD one!!!) is still there, but they painted around it and, well you can see it in the pics, they didn't get the color just right. Too bad. Tuners These "dots and bound" necks also retained the classic old "double-line" Kluson Deluxe machine heads, which were by then already being phased out in favor of the (cheaper) "F"-stamped tuners.
So it has rarity and transition all over it
Anyway ... the neck plays and feels DELICIOUS! It's straight, the frets are new. Also, the nut -New, as some dumbo re-shaped it into some sort of "triangle" / sharpened shape. The back of the neck has also been re-sprayed in (what I've been told to be) nitro clear coat. It's smooth and not sticky or anything else like that.
This guitar is perfectly tuned by luthier
I found only
shortcoming with the bridge -buzz
I recommend installation of BUZZ STOP ROLLER FOR FENDER JAGUAR JAZZMASTER BRIDGE    http://whizzobuzzstop.com/
this guitar is a wonderful gem of old school
