Description

Up for unreserved auction, my 45 year old Fender Telecaster Thinline electric guitar. The stamp on the neck heel indicates August of 1972 and the serial number is consistent with guitars from 1972 to 1973. It is the walnut colour finish although that has worn and scratched through in places. For the musician who wants the best of both worlds, this is the guitar to have. It's a vintage guitar with original pickups but has brand new frets and the wiring has been cleaned up with top quality components.New to the guitar - dunlop 6105 fret wire, new nut, CTS pots, switch, orange drop capacitor, jack, top quality wire.Original to the guitar - all the stuff a player wants - neck, body, bridge, amazing wide range pickups, tuners, trees, buttons, knobsCollectors insisting on absolute original equipment may not like new frets and wiring harness. However, if you're a player who wants vintage cool with absolute performance, this is your guitar!I had this guitar overhauled by a very accomplished local Winnipeg luthier who made sure the fret job was perfectly executed. I have witnessed his work on vintage Gibsons and Fenders and I spared no expense in securing the talents of someone with over 30 years experience.  His wiring harness with the orange drop capacitor made an already great sounding guitar sound even better. This guitar had been re-fretted previously and so this refret was done meticulously to ensure it would be perfect. A new nut was created to compliment the new frets. The finish has a very fine crazing which is difficult to see in the photos. I tried to highlight the most significant dents and dings. It is a player's guitar, and has seen many stages and jams in its lifetime. This isn't a museum piece. It was beat up the old fashioned way - it was played! Take notice of the cigarette burn by the first fret (not by me - I don't smoke) and the darkening of the wood at the edge of the fretboard where this finish wore down. I will ship the guitar in its original case wrapped and inserted in a sturdy box with foam and shipping peanuts. **Note, the case has one broken hinge***One hinge is seized and has pulled itself out of the lid. This may be repairable or perhaps a new hinge could be retrofitted. I will leave this up to the new owner. I could also ship it in a modern molded case that is larger instead. You can decide that and let me know. Most folks like the original cases but the offer is there if you like. It would be the same price.I usually ship using the Postal service but I can investigate UPS and FedEx for you if you wish. I insist that all packages are insured and have a tracking number. Any Tariff, duties, or brokerage fees incurred from international shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. I have no control over time spent in customs so please understand that when bidding. Also, if asking for surface shipping, understand that trucks and boats move slower that planes and shipping takes a while. Within hours shipping an item I provide a shipping number for you to track your parcel's location.I will not falsify values or declare items as gifts. It is illegal and against eBay policy. Please don't ask me to do so.I am starting the unreserved auction low so bid early if you want it. I find reserves and high "buy it now" prices boring. I never offer second chances. I re-list items if buyers default on their bids. If you are contacted by someone claiming to offer a second chance at the close of the auction they are LYING! Contact eBay and report them.
