Some of these came with a Lifton Metal Badge and some did not. This case does not have the badge.
Vintage Lifton cases were the best available from this era, and this one is no exception.
Most of these cases stay with the vintage guitars, so you'll rarely see a case like this for sale. Like any used 45 to 55 year old vintage case, this one is not perfect, but it's in great shape. The case still looks very nice especially for being about 40 to 50 years old, and it will, certainly protect the investment in your vintage guitar. The exterior has some scuffs, scrapes and small tears, in the tolex, that have been touched up.
The Marigold interior reflects some normal wear, but it's very clean and in great shape. All of the hardware, including the hasps and hinges as well as the handle, are intact and they work fine. The hardware is naturally tarnished but again, everything is in place. The handle is intact and it works fine. The accessory pocket is intact and so is the lid for it. The small pull tab for the lid has been replaced, so the the lid opens properly. All of the small metal cap feet are intact and so is the strap that holds the main lid open. There's a factory lock on the side to secure your guitar while it's being stored or transported. We do not have the key, but those are often listed on eBay.
The case should work with any Gibson ES Custom Shop ES-335 Dot Pro Elite Elitist Sheraton I II or John Lennon Revolution Casino Model. It should work with any right or left hand RH LH handed 16" wide semi hollow body Gibson or Epiphone semi hollow body guitar that's about 3" deep. That includes the ES 125 135 137 225 330 335 345 355 ES125 ES135 ES137 ES225 ES330 ES335 ES345 or ES355 type electric guitars as well as many other models and brands. It may also work with a Byrdland or an L5 etc. However, exact guitar dimensions will vary, so please check these measurements, to make sure your guitar will fit. These are the inside dimensions, and tight between the pads, which will give a little. The lower bout is 16-3/4" across
The upper bout measures 12-3/4" across
The overall length is 43-1/4" plus there's another 1/2" for the lower strap pin
The depth measure right at 3" in the middle (at the waist) plus there's another 1" or so in the lid
If you have a Gibson or Epiphone ES335 you really need a good high quality case like this to protect your guitar and maintain the maximum value.
