ALTA® Fretted Electric Violin - 4 string
•Superior quality and super lightweight
•New Floating Bridge technology allows the bridge to move the same way as an acoustic violin and eliminates feedback
•On-board volume and tone for easy & accurate control of sound
•High-output pickup & passive electronics eliminate the need for preamps and batteries
•Fretted Ebony fingerboard, bridge, and pegs
•Laminated body construction, built to last
•Custom Realist electronics from David Gage and Ned SteinbergerWhen I play this violin thru my acoustic amp, the tone is fantastic. If I didn't know it I would think I was playing thru a microphone, the tone is so realistic to pure violin...does not sound plugged in! This is due to the floating bridge technology, much different than sticking a transducer on the soundboard. You will love it! I had the frets installed, at $15 per fret by a luthier in CA. They provide perfect intonation in relation to the bridge placement. If you haven't tried a fretted fiddle (violin) you don't know what you are missing...slides, vibrato...all can be done as on a non-fretted violin...the big plus is that your intonation will always be correct, even in the noisiest of venues when you have a hard time hearing yourself over the rest of the band, you know your intonation is perfect! Again...you will love it!
