This is a one owner, 1956 Selmer Paris Mark VI Alto Saxophone, with a 68XXX serial number, in all original condition. The matching serial number is also stamped on the neck. Comes with the original Selmer Tray Pack Case. It also has the clarinet case insert in very good condition. (The zipper pulls are missing from the saxophone case but it opens and shuts easily without them). Also comes with the original Selmer Paris wood end plug.Physically, the sax looks amazing for it’s age. We do not see any past damage repairs. The only real flaw on this instrument is the pitting around the low Eb tone hole and key cup. The lacquer is worn heavily in that spot and some green residue has built up, but the pad was changed by the previous owner several years ago. There is also a spot of lacquer wear on the backside of the bell, as well as some dings in the bow guard on the bottom of the sax. The finish though, looks great, as you can see in the photos. Engraving is very crisp and looks great. This saxophone is in good playing condition. If you are a professional you may want to take it to your preferred tech for some adjustments to get it to your liking. As is, the saxophone is super responsive and articulates very well. Plays good overall up and down the register. Key action is fast, well balanced and the sax feels great to play. What else is there to say, it is a fine example of a Mark VI alto from the most sought after 5 digit era of this model.Plays great with the if you want a brighter and more focused sound. The will give you a more spread and warm sound. We have plenty of great handmade saxophoen mouthpieces that you can pair with this saxophone, , along with more pictures of this saxophone.
We will pack it to arrive safely. Great Buy It Now price. US Customers - Order by December 18th, 2016 and it can be there before Christmas! Please let us know if you have any questions.
