This is a Schilke Eb (soprano) cornet, thought by many to be the best Eb cornet ever made. The serial number places it in the mid-1980s. The valves are Schilke-tight! They retain their perfect compression. All slides move easily. The silver is all intact. The back bell bow shows signs of repair. There is a small ding in the lead-pipe bow. These have no impact on playability, tone, or intonation. The horn yields fine intonation, including correct alignment of all registers (for example, upper C is not sharp vs low C), when I play it with either of the two mouthpieces that are included: a Yamaha (Japan) short-stem 11E4 (deep-V cup) and a Schilke long-stem 11E. The included case (original) is scuffed, but the latch springs are good. This is just what you need for your British brass band.
