This cornet is in original near mint condition with only two pencil point pings on the bell tail. The beautifully patinaed original lacquer exhibits some wear/rub on the left side of the bell stem and top of the back bow and I would rate it at 98% intact. The original owner lost the 3rd piston. However, the valve stem, guide, spring, cork/felt, top valve cap and key button were contained within a plastic bag. It took a long time to find an original piston. The replacement piston performs flawlessly and exhibits excellent compression. The top sprung valves are bright and shiny, without staining or pitting and exhibit excellent compression as the cornet has obviously seen little use over the decades. All slides operate with silky smoothness. The following is a list of specifications:Finish - Original lacquer (@ 98%) over yellow brass and nickel silverSerial No. - 20XXXBore Size - .458" medium cornet boreFeatures - Solid nickel silver lead pipe, slide tubes, and upper casing balusters; underslung main tuning slide, 3rd slide with adjustable ring; silver plated valve caps and key buttons.Accessories - Martin cornet leather case in excellent condition. Also included is the original Reynolds 6A mouthpiece.
