An Ebayer recently selected this item, but then changed their mind before paying. So, the item is available again for your buying advantage!It appears the bow is made of pernambuco wood. Has a rounded shaft then eight sided by the frog. This is a Albert Nurnberger violin bow made in Germany. Nurnberger bows are highly sought after for their quality and you will find many that have sold at high end auction houses with a 35% buyer premium tacked on to a hammer price higher than what we are offering this bow for.
Minor loss of the finish along the shaft. Nice looking frog on it. No cracks, splits or missing pieces to the ebony, mother of pearl or other materials. The bow has no cracks, splits or repairs to the wood that we can see to report to you. "Albert Nurnberger" impression on the shaft above the frog. Has "Germany" impressed under the frog. The bow still has a great finish on it. Good camber. Strong flex to the shaft and I can ascertain no warping, splits or repairs to report to you. The bow has a silver colored wire wrapping with black tape/leather winding on the shaft. Beautiful tip on this violin bow as well. There is old horse hair on the bow, it will need to be rehaired at some juncture.
The mother of pearl inlays are in place on the sides of the frog and along the bottom. Appears to be a silver and ebony end screw. The bow is 29-3/8" (736.6mm) long. The bow weighs 1.7 ounces (48 grams) with no horse hair on it. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
