Here's a very cool and rare Guild Masteramp from the mid-1950's.  All tube with 2 independent channels, a single 15 inch speaker, and built-in tremolo.  Wow!This amp is bigger than a tweed Fender Deluxe - about the size of a tweed Pro, but with tremolo.  It can get pretty LOUD, but it stays pretty clean compared to a Fender or Gibson of the same era.  It has a nice compression that evens out the tone. The 2 tone design is a classic look, and the build-in logo on the grill cloth is in great shape for its age, as shown in the pics.  Cosmetically very clean, with only minor wear.  On the top, you can see where a previous owner had a couple of small metal pieces with his initials engraved.  So 1950's...  Looks like the original leather handle.Guild did not make many of these amps, and the actual model designation is unknown.  Apparently there were a lot of variations on the circuits before Guild began standardizing their models in the late-1950's.Dating the amp is a challenge.  The speaker and several of the pots are date-coded 1953, but other components date as late as 1957.The tubes include four 6V6 power tubes, dual 5Y3 rectifiers, one 6SN7, and 4 12AX7's.  This is an unusual tube lineup, but all tubes are readily available if you ever need a replacement.  All tubes are ORIGINAL and in good condition.  My tech has gone through it and replaced electrolytic caps and a few other small components, as well as converting the ac cable to a 3 prong grounded type.My tech indicated that the output was around 25 watts.  The 2 rectifiers are curious.  He said that the design only uses 1/2 of each tube.  Really different.Overall sound is very good - like a vintage tube amp should sound.  The speaker has a very low level rattle due to voice coil rub.  The tremolo sounds great - more of a throbbing early 60's Fender sound than blackface choppy sound.if you are a vintage amp person, you'll love this one.  It's really unique, both in circuit and in cosmetics, and it sounds cool too!  Priced very fairly considering what a comparable Fender or Gibson from this era would sell for.Payment Terms:Payment due within 3 days of sale.
