Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare and unique 1930's era American Double Button 373 carbon microphone. This was a very common design for it's time and it comes with the all metal period Bud radio desk stand. This classic style of microphone was made by several American companies before disappearing altogether around the late 1930's. I should not that the mic came with a container that it was stored in and had some very cool info stating when and where it was used. I have no way to verify that it was in fact ever used at NBC or CBS but it was most likely used in some broadcasting facility before being retired. This spring mic is in very good physical condition considering it's age as seen in the pictures provided and it's a rare brass model as they usually came with a chrome plate. The model 373 element shows typical lite signs of wear in the form of natural patina but it's free of any corrosion and has been well stored over the years. It has all of it's original components and looks pretty good overall but I don't know how to properly wire this mic so I really have no idea if there is any output at all? I've got two wires connected but I believe there is a 3rd that needs to be hooked up in the rear as well. I would rate this mic an easy 7 on a scale of 1 -10. The mic comes with an all metal Bud Radio desk stand that is period to the mic. It's cast iron with the original black paint too. it's got some weight to it and makes for a very stable platform. The original springs were mostly missing so new ones were installed providing lots of tension and keeping the mic dead center. These old spring mics are almost always missing a few springs or all the springs entirely. The mic was wired purely for cosmetic reasons and comes with a short 12 inch protruding cable with vintage 1/4 inch end cable. The cable is the old cloth style being period and looks great. The actual American 373 element is 3 inches across X 1 inch deep and the measurements with stand are 8 1/2 inches in height X 5 inches wide.
