Description

this is a really good-sounding and playing old Guild. the action is a little more than 3 3/32nds at the 12th fret of the bass string and lower on the treble side. the saddle is low but the brazilian bridge is full thickness. it plays easily and the nut is 1 and 11/16ths wide. the frets are good and the neck is straight. it has a repair on the lower part of the back that is a bit unsightly but is solid and going nowhere. there also are a couple of cracks on the treble bout by the neck joint that are cosmetic only. what it needs is a new pickguard. the old one has shrunk. i bought one from Guild that's included but it doesn't quite fit. a guy in Alabama was going to make me one for about 50 bucks but i never sent him the old one so...live with it like i did or i will give you contact info. it came with a beat chipboard case but i bought a really good SKB case for it that fits and protects it great. this is a real bargain for a quality 50 year old dreadnaught guitar. much better than a '66 Gibson and maybe the equal of a D-18 from the same era. all solid mahogany, spruce and brazilian rosewood. i wouldn't be surprised if the top is adirondack. at any rate, Continental US sales only. i'm selling AS IS due to the issues i've mentioned. look at the photos carefully before bidding. any doubts or questions, please don't bid thanks.
