Fox Renard Model 222 Wood Bassoon, Overhauled & Adjusted, + New Protec Case For sale is a Fox Renard Model 222 wood bassoon in Great condition and New Pads and a New Protec case and CVX Bocal. This high quality Wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world. This instrument includes standard keywork with the Plateau C Key. We have just finished overhauling this instrument and it plays wonderfully. All the pads were replaced on this bassoon, and now it plays cleanly and evenly up and down. This is a great high end pre-professional bassoon, and because of the high quality fox design, you will find that it will play better than most other brands. The Tenon connector material is cork for a more even vibration throughout the instrument, and these connectors will last you many years. A bocal is included with this instrument as well. In terms of cosmetic condition, this instrument is in good condition. This instrument does show some wear over the years, but still presents very well. The Metal plating is nickel, and was polished to a shine. However the plating surface shows quite a bit of wear, and has worn through to the bare brass in several places on the bands. The keywork polished up well, but is still noticeable. Look at the many close up photos below to get a better idea of the condition of the instrument. There are scratches, dings, and enamel loss in several locations on the wood body. It still looks ok from an audience perspective, though. The Bass Joint-Boot Joint Tenon was replaced by Fox. The U-tube is Dented as well. The bocal This does not affect the playability of the instrument. The photos below will try to highlight any imperfections on the instrument. The case is a brand new protec case (We can swap this out for a used hard case on request). Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed.
