You are bidding on a 1976 Gibson Marauder, they only produced 7,112 of these guitars, and included in the deal is an ad from Rolling Stone magazine in August of 1976 with Paul Stanley from Kiss playing a marauder. I have owned this guitar for 22 1/2 years, and it is a great sounding, great playing guitar. Why am I selling it?? I need to raise money to go to Florida, my Dad is not doing well, he's 83 and it saddens me to have to give up this guitar. It has the usual buckle rash and some scratches on the back, but it is not as bad as others I have seen. There is a ding on the back of the guitar that does not affect the playability of the guitar. It is cosmetic. Everything on the guitar is original. I put Shaller's on for strap locks, but the original strap buttons are in the case. Also, I am including a vintage leather strap, that matches the era of the guitar and times this guitar was made. It is not the original case, when I got the guitar it did not have a case. The back of the neck has no finish left on most of the neck from playing the guitar. I can tell you this, I like it better this way, it plays smoother. The action is great and the sound, well, it's the sound you can get only from a Gibson. The ad from Rolling Stone magazine is nice. It has been kept with cardboard behind it (not attached) and in a plastic sleeve. The colors still pop on the ad. I took the pics with it in the sleeve, because I did not want to take it out of it's sleeve. For both items being 41 years old, they are in awesome shape. What a great addition to your collection or the guitar collector in your circle. Don't miss out on this one.All items are sold AS IS, no refunds. I am not a store, just an individual trying to sell some stuff. Please ask all questions before bidding. The Gibson Marauder was an model produced by . The resulting sound was closer to the Fender sound than that of most Gibson guitars, with more higher frequencies than regular Gibsons.Early Marauders had a three-way on the treble side of the upper bout of the body (opposite the location on Les Pauls and ES-175s, similar to a ), to turn on either one or both pickups. In 1976, a rotary was introduced which allowed a range of blends between the two pickups. In still later Marauders, the potentiometer (now a chickenhead knob) was positioned between the volume and tone knobs.Marauders all had Schaller made "Harmonica" ("" style) bridges and the standard Gibson stopbar .
