This is an early Babbitt Vintage piece made in the Florida Factory that includes the original box. It is an early one that uses the old slant profile blanks (note the sharp drop off from the barrel to the beak). The facing is parallel from front to back and its a great example. It lacks the lake or what looks like a thumb print in modern links that destroys tone and projection. It also has power to spare. This piece has depth and complexity. It blows big and you can also see that it has the all important thin table in the last photo. Its hard to photograph but I think you can tell. Modern link have super thick tables that are not desirable. This piece has not been messed with . The original mill marks are still on the table. There is very little oxidation on the piece. Overall it is still quite black. Just a little modeling here and there from light exposure. These dont come around often in this tip size, much less this condition. If you wanted it opene bigger there is still a bit of room.NOTE: There is a discussion thread about this on SOTW forum. gives you some background into the history...some of which I did not know. I cant add a link on ebay but if you go on sax on the web and search Slant Profile early babbitt or search my threads under sigmund451 you will find it. YOU will also see a price there for members that we can discuss and my information.thanksShipping Costs include full insuranceInternational requires Express mail as this is the only way to insure. Sorry international is expensive but I doubt I will ever see one of these again so it needs to be safe. thanks for looking PhilPhil-tone Custom Woodwinds
