An old early 1900's violin by John Juzek. This is a great violin, in excellent condition, recently serviced, with new top of the line strings. Produces great, strong projecting sound, even across all strings. Juzek was known as a great violin maker, he made copies of all the best known Italian makers. He is thought to have used wood from old bohemian churches and buildings. His top of the line violins were marked as Master copy or something like that and they command high prices like 8-10K or more. The other ones are not marked by Master copy and therefore considered a lower level instrument, but they still are fantastic and command prices in the range of 2-4K. This particular violin is labelled with his name (not a sticker, but labeled on the wood), full size, and no cracks or repairs done on it. Apart from the surface scratches here and there, no other issues with it. It produces real nice sound.
The back violin body is 14 inches long (without including the button), and the total length is 23.5 inches. It is a full size violin. It has also a single piece back. My pictures are not as good as the violin, it is real nice and in excellent condition.
I could not photograph it, but inside the violin through the f hole, it says the following: "John Juzek Violinmaker In Prague" Between John and Juzek, there is a square seal and inside the seal something is written. Since there is no "Made in" it must be prior to 1920's as I understand. You may want to check the internet for more info. I guarantee the authenticity of the instrument. I have set the price just to recover my cost as i want someone to use it. This price will be good for this month as I have an eBay coupon that reduces my seller cost. In July, I will have to raise it to 1300. Please text if you have any questions to 8324994987.It has an old box. It has a bow but the local violinmaker who serviced it told me it needs repair and not worth the cost. Due in 3 days.
