1990 Rickenbacker 325 John Lennon LIMITED EDITIONMost often described as one of 2,000 produced in 1990. There were actually only 750 of this model. The rest were 12 string 325 and 6 and 12 string 355s.Rickenbacker used original production equipment out of mothballs and micro measured the original to exactly produce this model. Number one went to his son. This is a 3/4 size guitar and definitely a rythm guitar. This, along with George's Rickenbacker 360 12 string gave the Beatles their unique sound in the early touring years. If you don't know the sound, check it out on YouTube. Pick any early Beatles song and you'll likely see both Rickenbackers.This 325 is in excellent condition and it comes with the COA (certificate of authenticity), Bigsby vibrato arm and vintage OHSC. It is the same fingerboard width as the other 300 series guitars other than the Rickenbacker 1993 plus 12 string which is 1/8th inch wider. This is the guitar that John bought in Hamburg and had painted black. He later added the Bigsby B5 vibrato arm. The size makes it easier to reach some of those chords that can be difficult. The beginning of "l Want To Hold Your Hand" is typical of the Rickenbacker 325 sound.As an ultimate Beatles fan who plays guitar l couldn't get any closer to the original. The sound is pure Beatles and l still enjoy playing their music. Many of this model are beaten up and don't have the original COA. This one was by far the best l found after a long search. It is listed several places so don't delay. Many ordinary 325s are higher priced.More pics soon to follow.
