Holton 179 French Horn Double F/Bb
Estimated price for orientation: 1 175 $
Category: French Horns
Class:
Description Skill Level: Professional Brand: Holton Type: Double Horns Model: H179 Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Finish: Nickel Silver
I got a great deal on this horn so I can pass on the savings. When I bought the horn, the bell had been damaged. I had the bell repaired and had the horn Chem cleaned. The technician said that that the valves were in great shape with almost no wear when he pulled them. The horn plays very well. In fact, I used it in a concert tonight. Cosmetically, there is wear typical of a horn this age (late 1970's) with some pitting and wear in usual places. I have done my best to depict this in the illustrations. The horn plays well with a typical Farkas H179 robust sound. It responds well at all dynamic ranges and the timbre of the Bb/F sides match each other well. The compression of the horn is very good. Valves have had springs replaced, making the horn very agile and easy to play in technical passages. Case is tattered around the edges but is still very solid. If you want a great playing horn without spending 3 grand, this it. If buyer wants it, I can include Holton mdc mouthpiece in used, but really good condition. PayPal only. Continental US only.
