1975 Greco SA-500 Hollowbody Vintage Sunburst ES-339 ES-359 Copy
Estimated price for orientation: 999 $
Category: Electric Guitar
Class:
Description Brand: Greco String Configuration: 6 String Body Type: Semi-Hollow Dexterity: Right-Handed MPN: Does Not Apply Model Year: 1975 Model: SA-500 Body Color: Vintage Sunburst
For sale is this mid-70’s Greco SA-500 Hollowbody in Vintage Sunburst with original hardshell case. This is essentially a Gibson ES-339 copy (or more accurately, an ES-359 copy), but actually PRE-DATES the ES-339 by about 40 years. I guess you could say that the ES-339 is actually an SA-500 copy :) These old Greco hollowbodies are highly revered among “lawsuit guitar enthusiasts”, and I can certainly see why. This guitar is ROCK SOLID, and plays extremely well! It is fully-hollow (has a small block under the bridge), as opposed to the ES-339 which is semi-hollow with a center block. The pots were swapped out for super-smooth Emersons, and a brass bridge was installed a long time ago (original is in the case but is missing a few saddles). Other than that, this guitar is in original condition. It has been played but not abused, and only shows minor signs of wear (small scratches, a few tiny dings, etc). Overall, this SA-500 is in excellent condition for its age. Has a bit of fret wear, but there is plenty of life left in them.
