DescriptionThis NTX starts with a solid Engelmann spruce top, for warm, balanced tone. The neck features nato (a softer wood) while the back and sides are flamed maple, giving a beautiful and wavy veneer. Also known as "curly maple", flamed maple is prized for its bright, stunning appearance. Hard and strong, it is often used for necks on electric guitars. When used for backs and sides it produces a crisp, clear, less resonant tone that cut through well making it great for lead playing.The Yamaha NTX900 acoustic electric guitar also features the A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement), an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.Like most Yamaha's, this NTX900 plays and sounds great. Comfortable action and feel. The neck is straight and the action is good. The pickup delivers realistic plugged in tone. Everything works as it should. This is a nice, very clean used guitar. Bought new and recently traded in, it shows no evident play-wear. Very nice looking especially with the Flamed Maple. Comes in original hard-shell case.A top quality cutaway acoustic electric nylon string can be tough to find.
