Together they've come up with some of the best electric guitar designs on the market, but nothing in their catalog is quite like their most recent collaboration. The Majesty is one of the best new designs in years - not just for Music Man, but for the entire industry. It borrows many build concepts from previous JP models, but when it comes down to it, this is a totally unique and radically different guitar. You'll notice right off the bat that the body style is new. That seemingly large upper horn isn't just for looks: The top cutaway is almost just as deep as the bottom cutaway, so you can get your thumb over the neck when you're playing in the highest registers. This is the first JP model built with through-neck construction, and the headstock has been angled as well. Music Man has built this guitar with some unique tonewood configurations that provide optimum tonal clarity and balance. This axe is perfect for the die hard Petrucci fan or simply anyone who's looking for the best new design geared towards faster styles. Good work, Music Man. Item Details This Music Man Majesty sports an incredible list of features. Let's start with the wood. The neck and middle part of the body are all made from the same piece of mahogany. This works wonders for the sustain and provides a sweetness to the tone that you don't get with other designs. The sides of the body are basswood, and there is also a maple top for that crispness in the high-end. The ebony fretboard has 24 medium jumbo stainless steel frets and a 17" radius. For pickups, the Majesty is outfitted with two direct-mount DiMarzio Illuminators and a piezo in the bridge. There is an active preamp that'll let you get up to 20dB gain boost via a push/pull volume knob. The tone knob is a push/pull as well that'll let you split the humbuckers when you're in the middle position. Schaller locking tuners keep everything in tune, even after you really lean into the fretboard. This is one of the best new designs we've seen in a long time.
