Alesis HD24 ADAT 24 Track Digital Hard Drive Audio Recorder with Maxtor 120GB HD in original Alesis HD Caddy.  Latest firmware version 1.21 OS is loaded onto the system.  Comes with Alesis ADAT Type II LRC (remote control).  Although not the original HD24 labeled remote, it is fully compatible with ADAT Type II and HD24 units.  LRC is in mint condition.  Also included is the original owner’s manual, power cord, and shipped in the original Alesis packaging.  Unit is in Excellent condition overall (see photos), with the exception that the left HD bay door is missing.  However, during normal use this is never an issue since the HD is always installed.  Unit functions 100% without any issues.  I ran a complete diagnostics test, which included: LED screen test, LED button test, panel button test, LRC test, HD tests, internal memory tests, analog audio loop tests, digital audio loop tests, MIDI tests, and Ethernet tests – all tests passed without any failures.  This unit is guaranteed to work without exception!  I am the original owner and have used this only in my smoke-free home studio.  This unit has never given me any problems and records beautifully.  This is the only digital recorder that I know of in which the sound coming out of it is actually better than what goes into it.  I’m not sure why, but it seems like there is some amount of slight compression going on during the A/D conversion that give the recorded tracks a little more punch.  This is similar to what happens when recording onto high quality analog tape, but without any of the noise.  When I A/B the sound going in and sound going out, the sound coming from the HD24 is always better.  The only reason I’m selling it is because I upgraded to an HD24XR, but quite honestly I can’t really tell that much difference in sound between the two when recording in standard 48 kHz mode.  Great recorder in great condition at a great price!!! ***PLEASE READ UPDATED RETURN POLICY BELOW*** eBay permits sellers to establish a return policy and by purchasing this item you agree to abide by my return policy as stated herein.  Please read each description and look at all photos of the item carefully to ensure that this is the item you want to purchase at the price you offer.  Please ask any questions you may have about the item BEFORE submitting a bid or offer.  This is not a retail store and all sales are final.  Requests for return will be rejected, except for the following conditions listed below.  I will offer a refund for return only under the following conditions: 1) The item received was not as described.  This is per eBay buyer protection policy so that the item you receive is as described in the listing.  Such a situation is highly unlikely as I am extremely careful in my descriptions. 2) Damage in shipment such that the item does not function properly or there is visible damage to the item.  Damage to the external shipping container or box that has not caused any damage to the item itself does not constitute shipping damage.   Although I do my absolute best to carefully pack all items, if you as a buyer believe that your item was damaged in shipment you must do the following things to claim a return within 24 hours of receiving the item: 1.      Immediately take photos of the damaged box or container. 2.      Take photos of the damaged item once opened from the box. 3.      Describe in detail the damage to the item. 4.      Send photos and description of damage to the seller. 5.      Request return of the item through eBay due to damage. Refunds will be only for the cost of the item and any shipping charges already paid to receive the item.  Cost of shipment for returns will be paid by the buyer.  Per eBay policy, all returned items must be sent in exactly the same condition in which they were received, with no alteration, modification, attempted repairs, or use of any kind.  I adhere to this policy firmly. If there is a problem with the item even after having received and accepted the order please contact me to resolve the problem.  I always try to be fair and work with reasonable customers even after the sale is complete.
