1917 Gibson A4 Mandolin with Case and Music - NO RESERVE!

First off, I am not a collector - I am helping a very elderly couple sell off some items.This piece was in their family since the mid 1920's. I understand the pick guard is not original to 1917, and I also understand the case is a Gibson, but it is not a 1917 case. The unit is in very nice condition, missing only 1 string. The case is well used, but functions as it should.The FON (factory order number) inside this unit is 11062, which I understand corresponds to a 1917 build. The serial number should be 5 digits, but as you can see they messed up when writing it in at the time of manufacturing, and it appears to be 6 digits (4506626). As i understand it, one of the numbers is likely in error.To my untrained eye, this piece does not appear to be refinished or repaired, nor does the owner remember it being repaired or refinished during their ownership. It is a very pretty piece and appears in very good condition.The music book was inside the case and has pages of handwritten music and is an interesting bonus.I have the piece in my possession and can get any additional photos you may want or try to answer any questions you may have.We are starting the bidding very low and we are offering at NO RESERVE because the intent is to sell it.
