1989/90 Fender Japan Yngwie Malmsteen Strat. This is a VERY rare green color (it looks like some Surf Green strats I've seen, but then also looks like some Seafoam Green). Great looking guitar. It is not a show piece, but rather an honest player's guitar with some imperfections that are to be expected of a guitar that is approaching its 30th birthday. But, from just a few feet away, it looks like a stunner. I get a lot of compliments on it. This guitar was built in Japan by Fuji-Jen which is a very high quality builder in Japan whose instruments are highly regarded to this day.  It has some very important upgrades that will be welcomed by anybody who has owned a vintage or vintage themed Strat. It has a Wilkinson VSVG vibrato with locking saddles, an LSR roller nut, roller string trees and Fender contemporary tuners. All of that means this guitar will actually stay in tune when you use the vibrato. Another huge advantage to the Wilkinson bridge is the press in/pull out bar. No slop like you usually have in a threaded bar in a normal Strat. This is in Wilkinson's 5+1 series meaning that one hole is round to keep the bridge from moving laterally, but the other 5 screw/mounting holes are oval which keeps the vibrato from binding thus assisting in keeping it in tune. Whatever it is...it works. I no longer cringe thinking about what will happen if I use the vibrato. As a side note...I still have the original Fender vintage style bridge for this guitar. If you'd rather have that bridge, let me know and I'll have it swapped out...either one is available for this auction.  Another critical upgrade are the electronics. This has the U.S. Series Seymour Duncan YJM wired pickguard. These are the actual pickups and electronics used in the U.S. Yngwie Strats. You get a great, crisp Strat sound without any hum. They also have more output volume and presence than the older Dimarzio HS-3/HS-4 combination in the older U.S. Yngwie Strats.  The guitar plays fantastic and includes a very nicely padded gig bag. I am offering it for sale with a reasonable shipping fee of $15 to the lower 48 states.
