The first thing I have to say is that this amp Sounds AMAZING - I mean it has such a pleasing tone that it can be distracting.  Maybe it's the Ampeg branded  CTS Alnico speaker in it, or maybe its a factory freak where the tolerances of all the components came together at a sweet-spot, but many people comment about it's really fine warm tone, early breakup and subtle growl.   It's in excellent shape.  The original blue/gray checkerboard Tolex has only a couple of minor flaws, speaker grill cloth is in excellent condition and the chrome control panel shows use typical of an amp of this age. You can see it aquired a new handle and knobs somewhere along the way I think from Flip Tops, and it looks great!   I had it fully checked out and serviced by the folks at boutique amp builder Bemis Amplification here in San Diego. It's as quiet as a mouse... would be great for recording use. Check out Bemis if you're looking for an excellent amp (or a custom build) at a great price.    The tube compliment includes 2 compactron tubes - an original Ampeg branded Sylvania 6BK11 in the tremolo, a 6C10 preamp tube, plus two original Ampeg branded Sylvania 7591 power tubes, and a new 5Y3 rectifier tube.     The amp is probably one of the last tube rectified Jets, as it seems Ampeg started building them with solid state rectifiers sometime in 1965 and stopped making Jets altogether a year or 2 after that (until replica / reissue Jets in the 1990s and then again more recently featuring circuit boards & reverb units).   I already mentioned the serial number translates to 1965 (info from the ampegv4 website) and noted the Ampeg branded CTS Alnico speaker, which you can see has a 1965 date code.    Overall an excellent, excellent, player's amp you will really enjoy!!   I love the sound of this amp and the ONLY reason I'm selling it is I have another one just like it, with a slightly different Ampeg branded CTS Alnico speaker - which sounds just as good!  Can lightning strike twice?  Seems it has.  So not needing 2 of the same amp I flipped a coin and this one gets a new home...   Come and play it if you are anywhere in southern California.  If shipped it will be carefully packed and tubes will be individually bubble wrapped for safety.  However, selling as-is when shipped, due to its age and the normal risks related to shipping.
