Gibson Mastertone 5 string banjo, Earl Scruggs Standard model with original hard shell case. The banjo was built in 1999 and has "D" tuners and two spikes at the 7th and 9th frets. It has been very well cared for: cleaned after every use and stored in its case. The frets show little wear, mostly practice and "arm chair" pick'n, no road work or hard playing. The action and setup was done at McCabes in LA. Comes with a tooled leather strap.The overall condition is excellent with the added benefit of the aged tiger striped maple very prominent on the resonator and neck. The nickel hardware is is like new. The sound is as crisp and clear as it gets. If you are looking for something other than the RB 250 mahogany sound, this is it.
