Guaranteed not to be found ever again! Superb large BRW ( Dalbergia Nigra ) 19th century table top. Composed of three long and wide boards ( actually four, but one is narrow and negligible ), measuring 168 cm long by 25 cm / 24.5 cm and 33 cm wide respectively. There are two additional boards across the edges. The thickness of these boards is 18 mm. This wood mostly quarter sawn, which makes it extremely unusual considering the age of this table. Boards of this period were always slab sawn to show the beautiful figured grains of the exquisite wood. The wood is so plain as to look almost dull. It has acquired that mellow golden hues typical of the BRW exposed to UV light for decades, but it will become much darker when resawn, ad can be seen on my last photos. This wood is ideal for anyone involved with the building of vintage Martin style guitars, and it will yield about ten sets. Wood that old with such characteristic are very difficult to come by. I have been on the antique furniture trade for nearly 25 years now, and have never come across something quite like that. Please email for details, specially if you are in North America.
