Silvertone 1457 Guitar Amp Case 1960'sA real classic! The Silvertone Guitar & Amp in Case is a piece of American History for sure. Starting in the mid-'50s, most guitars bearing the Silvertone brand name were produced by Danelectro. Silvertone was the in-house brand of Sears and was marketed to beginner guitarists. In 1963, Silvertone distributed a two-pickup version of the earlier amp-in-case model as the 1457. They came in various guises with one and two pickups and a few colour options.Silvertone 1457 Guitar Amp Case 1960'sA real classic! Silvertone was the in-house brand of Sears and was marketed to beginner guitarists. In 1963, Silvertone distributed a two-pickup version of the earlier amp-in-case model as the 1457. They came in various guises with one and two pickups and a few colour options. Introduced: Fall / Winter 1964 Retired : Fall / Winter 1966, still available into very early '67This is the more desirable version with two lipstick pickups. The amp is more powerful and has a great trem. It is 110v so will need a step-down transformer and the power cord has been upgraded with a grounded earth. As you can see the rig is in good condition. It is missing the foot switch. All the pot codes date to 1964 and the Jensen speaker code dates 1966. The electrics appear to be all original including the Sears Logo valves! Few marks as to be expected but nothing troublesome. Guitar plays well and the amp sounds great. Very atmospherics tones especially when you dial the trem in.Ref: S640
