This is a Bach 36 with the serial number #3113 (New York), which dates it to about 1948. It has been altered so the gooseneck can be interchangeable with a valve section, although there is no valve section. However, any valve section could be adapted to work with this bell or it could easily be changed back to its original configuration. The playing condition of this instrument is very good to excellent. The slide compression is excellent and the action is very good to excellent. However, the appearance is not as good as the playing condition. The lacquer may be original, but it has darkened and a lot of it is gone anyway. Nevertheless, all dents have been removed. There is one small spot on one of the inner tubes where the plating is worn away (see pictures), but other than that, the plating is completely intact. It comes with what is probably the original case in fairly poor condition, but no mouthpiece.
