I am a Master Piano Technician AND a Classical Pianist, who was constantly frustrated by expensive high end pianos that felt like a truck to play. They always seemed heavy and uneven from key to key, despite having been regulated to a "concert level". When I wanted to play at a pianissimo level, more often than not half the notes would not even sound. After carefully studying the reasons for this, I used my knowledge of physics to create a unique solution in the form of a proprietary system that is unlike any others currently offered today, (including Stanwood). The result is an action that is light, fast, smooth, balanced and infinitely controllable by the player at any volume level. This Baldwin Model "C" is a prime example of what my system can do for a piano. The piano was already very special because it is extremely rare, (the "C" has not been made by Baldwin for many decades), and a perfect example of the high quality instruments Baldwin was manufacturing in the 1930's that made it Steinway's number one competitor. This particular instrument has a really gorgeous full, "round" tone, with deep, full bass and sustain that never quits. The tenor and treble sections are rich and clear, but without the harshness that many of today's pianos seem to have. After I installed my "Action Optimization System", it now plays with incredible responsiveness. The lightest push on the front of the key elicits the exact volume and tonal palette the player is seeking, while giving you the speed and balanced smoothness that has long been the holy grail that most pianists have found to be so elusive. I am 100% confident that you will find this Baldwin to be one the most amazing pianos you have ever played. It is really "one in a million". You will need to arrange shipping with a reputable piano moving company. Prices will vary with where you reside in the country. The piano is currently located outside of Roanoke, VA.
