This is a genuine 1988 'E' Tele. It's very different from any other Tele I've had. I've had 5 or so before this one. It has a more punchy rock tone as opposed to the strong 'twang' but still unmistakably Tele. The neck feels a tad wider & slightly flatter than others. It's very comfortable & easy to play. The perfect smooth action. It definitely has a better feel & delivers way better than subsequent models. I read that Tele's from around that period were limited in production & handmade due to factory changes. I can't verify that but I can say this one is very special so it wouldn't surprise me & that is NOT just sales hype. I've heard the same from other late 80's Tele owners. Whether that's all Tele's of the year I really don't know. All I know is this one delivers in ways no other Tele I've had does. It's solid, dependable with a real vintage feel & sounds gorgeous on the neck & bites hard on the bridge. Obviously has signs of use being so old but has had no damage at anytime & no unsightly marks at all. The case is dependable but there are some cracks in the plastic on both sides yet still very much fit for purpose. There is the TBX on the tone knob which due to cost cutting was discontinued a few years later. Don't take my word for it. If you're in the market for a good Tele come & try with absolutely no obligation whatsoever. The pics are old but the guitar has rarely been played & certainly not gigged since they were taken. Postage price includes insurance.
