Carson J. Robison Model 926 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, made by Gibson, c. 1934, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany body and neck, spruce top. Essentially a Kalamazoo Senior by another name, this little Carson J. Robison flat top was built by Gibson, sold by Montgomery Ward and named for the well-known cowboy singer, who was still a radio star in the mid-1930's although looking increasingly long in the tooth! Deep sunburst top with the tiniest possible 'burst center, checkerboard soundhole edging and squared-off peghead. This is a ladder-braced mahogany guitar with a fairly big, barky sound despite the small body. A good choice for fingerstyle or slide blues playing. It has plenty of character and is structurally sound as can be. The intonation is great and its joy to play. I'm a professional guitar picker and this is from my private collection. No case, & it's all original. I bought this from an old timer about 15 years ago, he could not tell me if it ever had a neck reset but it didn't need one (I am guessing at one time that it have a neck re set) Overall length is 37 1/2 in. (95.2 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/16 in. (10.3 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.).
