1966 -'67 Fender Princeton Reverb amplifier in superb, near mint condition. As far as I can tell this amp is 100% original, exactly as it left the factory. Original speaker, two prong power cord, all of the original tubes and every single screw, washer, nut & bolt is original. I examined the chassis with a magnifying glass and I could not find any replaced or repaired components. Every single solder joint looks original. All original resistors, capacitors, transformers, etc. This one will satisfy the collector and player alike as it is as clean and original as can be and also sounds absolutely incredible. Pure, vintage Fender tube amp tone in a beautiful, museum quality package! The Tolex and grill cloth are near perfect with only the slightest amount of wear. Absolutely no rips, tears, dents, stains, or water damage anywhere. The grill cloth has a nice amber tint from age. The control panels are very clean with only minor, superficial scratches but none of it is through the paint and 100% of the paint and silk-screened lettering is intact. The chrome hardware shows only very light oxidation. This amp could be mistaken for a brand new reissue, except that it has that unmistakeable, beautiful vintage patina. In my 35 years of buying, selling and enjoying vintage gear, this may be the cleanest, most original vintage amp I have ever seen.  The tube chart shows model AA764 but this is actually model AA1164 (which matches the included original schematic). Fender was notorious for using inaccurate tube charts they had on hand after changes had been made to the circuit. Some Princeton Reverbs from this era came stock with a 5U4GB rectifier, this amp has the more desirable 5AR4 / GZ34. Serial number on chassis #A16074. Transformer codes: PT-606-6-46, 022772; OT-606-6-18, 022913; CH- 606645, 022921. Speaker codes: 10J4-3, 465-650 (Oxford, 50th week of 1966). Original tubes: Mullard 5AR4, RCA 6V6GTA’s, Telefunken 12AX7’s & 12AT7, Sylvania 7025. Fender used the very best tubes available and now these desirable tubes would be worth approximately $500 on the vintage tube market. They all test strong with plenty of life left in them and the amp works and sounds great with no hum, no rattles, no funny noises. Normally I would have any amp I acquire be serviced, but I decided to leave this amp as it is. Everything works as it should and again, it sounds fantastic. I would recommend however, that the buyer have the amp inspected by a quality tech to ensure safe operation. The original speaker is getting a little soft...it sounds good at low volume but it breaks up and starts to distort pretty early so I carefully removed it and replaced it with a nice Jupiter 10SC speaker. No modifications were made at all to the amp or baffle board. The speaker was an easy swap and now the amp is more playable and sounds great while preserving the originality of the stock speaker. The original speaker will be carefully boxed and shipped separately. The Jupiter is regarded by many aficionados as the very best replacement speaker available for vintage Fender amplifiers (it sounds better than the original Oxford!).  Amp comes complete with the original footswitch, schematic and owners manual (with still-intact, not yet filled out warranty card!) and a new canvas cover with embroidered Fender logo. A definite contender for the best Princeton Reverb on the planet...this is a sound investment that will likely only appreciate in value. Additional photos and detailed information upon request. Check my other listings for more cool stuff!Payment via Paypal only and due within 24 hours of end of auction.
