This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1951 Fender Bassman Amplifier. 1951 was the first year of the Bassman. This is a early model 1x15 Tweed, with the very rare "T.V. Front Panel" Built to complement the first Fender Electric Bass (Precision) this was the first exclusively "Bass" guitar amp Fender produced. This Bassman is a low Serial Number. Only about 630 of these amps were ever built. This is serial number #0190. This amp is mostly original. It has the Original Jensen 1x15 Speaker. This speaker dates to 1949, which is common for Fender parts that were "laying" around the shop. It is said that Leo Fender was an improviser, and never threw anything away! Tone Pot, Jacks, Transformers are all original.Internally, the amp has been re-capped. Our Amp Tech re-soldered some connections on the eyelet board. All Pots and Jacks have been cleaned and the amp has been fully serviced for the sale. The Tweed and the Oxblood Grill Cloth have been replaced. It looks OUTSTANDING! This was done prior to acquiring this amp. Done approximately 10 years ago. It is the right type of materials for this amp. The AC power cord has been upgraded to a 3-prong grounded cord. the Volume Pot has been replaced. (See picture #11). As stated earlier, it has had some of the caps replaced. Tone to 12—that’s one more than 11, isn’t it, Nigel? Very Simple Amp. One tone and one volume. One 15" Speaker. Like all Bassman's, these are really better guitar amps than bass amps. These have always been more popular with guitar players than bass players. 26 watt amp that breaks up very early. Great for recording, home practice or small gigs.Think Tone, Tone, Tone!
Rare and Collectable!Serial Number: #0190Speaker Code: #220926
USA Vintage Tube Amp!Our Amp Tech did a Service on this Amp. You will not have to spend any additional monies. Gig Ready on Arrival!Cosmetics: Excellent Condition. Some minor scratches, scuffs and tears in the tweed on the edges and on the back panel. Instrument control bezel is pitted and has some wear. All lettering is clear and legible. Grill cloth in great shape. No rips or tears. Considering that this is a 66 year old vintage amp, the condition is Outstanding! Dripping with "Mojo" The wear is what makes it authentic and cool.
