Looks like a reissue but its the real deal! Here’s a reissue guit… oh, hold on, it’s the real deal. And behind it is one of those stories we ALL love: a ONE-OWNER, all-original, mint-condition, lightweight 1972 Fender Stratocaster. I’m sure you’ll all agree this is an absolute beauty.Brought to us by the late original owner’s son, it’s always an honor to be chosen when someone decides to “pass on” beauties such as this. Remember folks, vintage guitars have no real owners, just “custodians”. Guitar is a late 1972 sample. Neck stamp, pot codes, pickup dates… all 1972. Neck serials are 1972 until 370XXX approximately, an this is a 372XXX, and Fender did overlap years, so it could be a fully 1972 guitar, or a super-late, transitional 72/very early 73. Who knows. It does point to be all 72, and that’s what it is in our opinion. Not a big deal anyway, but a lot of fun to reasearch. The guitar is a VERY light example for the year. Ash body, these usually weight a TON, but this one is only 3566gr (7.86 lb). Beautiful ash grain, factory natural (“natural” stamped in neck pickup cavity). “R. VEGA” Fender operator stamp in control cavity. It is bone stock: 3-way switch, pickups, pots… every SCREW. Not a thing was ever added or replaced. Solder joints are untouched. Two string trees are correct for mid-72 and on. Frets are original, do have wear on them, but guitar is still very playable. They have never been levelled, nothing. Guitar sounds absolutely fantastic, with loads of character, and a bell-like tone. What did you expect? ;)It includes the original tremolo arm, and the case is the one that was bought with the guitar, but definitely not a Fender case. Rock-solid, as clean as the guitar, and a very rare one. This was rather usual in Europe, since cases were sold separately by Fender, so it makes sense to think local stores found “better” solutions to that problem. The guitar is incredibly clean. Clearly a case of OCD couch guitar player here. You will not believe the condition it’s in. Folks: a one-owner mint condition 72 Strat in factory natural. It'll look good on you, but if you’ve got a pair of high heels and an afro it will look even better.
