I'm selling some of guitar. Say Hi to "Blackie"a '73 Rare original Black Paint Ash Body maple neck Stratocaster and Bye-Bye Now to undefined tone, vibe, feel and unprofessional look. 1973 Ash Black body stratocaster body (that's right = it's NOT a refinish, this is original FENDER factory paint here!) and correct number matching pickups (though not original to the guitar) -amazing patina, Nice original-finish condition, - possibly an 8.5 on the scale with only a few dings and NICE weathering and some body wears to the paint underneath = this looks Fabulous - By now, considered one of the last good Stratocasters from the Post-Hendrix era - Ash bodies sing - they're full of sustain and this Strat will sustain you as a player ! Its possible to see some of the grain where the paint's been worn away in a spot or two and for certain you can see its ASH. Two visible pots date code = 10th week of 1973. This thing Looks, Feels, and Sounds Amazing! The sound has 'weight' to it! No extra pickup routes! Pots date correctly to 1973 (- a - split shafts CTS from early 70s = you can see both visible pots have a 1973 date) - And it sounds like it : Staggered grey-bottomed pickups, 5-way switch installed to get the good tones! Correct eggplant-colored formivar wire, date coded to 1973 replaced in the guitar = they sound HEAVENLY! Serial plate # 38xxxx = also dating to 1973. Clear bell-like tones from this Ash-bodied tone-monster. The guitar has been nicely taken care of and has some AMAZING shine, original checking and patina on the original finish on it and that special tone that only Vintage Strats can get = why not have the original - old woods, vibe and tone, and FEELING for days, for less than you can buy a New Fender Reliced guitar made to LOOK LIKE ONE OF THESE! - Routed for tremelo, two pots show the correct 1973 date code and are 250K audio pots. Neck plate dating correctly to this era. Wonderful, 1973 date-coded neck = its certainly from this Post-Hendrix early-mid70s era for certain . Brand new frets (just slightly larger than stock so you can bend easily, stock radius = nice feeling, slender neck with NO FRET WEAR on a new, no-mileage setup - fingerboard correctly refinished to vintage specs and matched to the headstock vintage patina. Original headstock decal. Trem block is upgraded to steel (another major tone-uplevel you will enjoy ala vintage specs! and a beautiful piece of steel too!) Nice medium-to-light weight body and for ASH this is great!I hope I didn't forgot anything!
