Selling off my collection of double bell euphoniums. Hate to let this one go though...This is a rare Conn DB Euph built in 1916/1917 for the US Military Quartermaster Corps during the first world war. Conns built for the military don't necessarily correspond to the model numbers of their civilian horns, but the nearest I can find is like a 36I or 88I. Neither of those models fits the description of this horn exactly (the 36I being a 5 valve model and the 88I not introduced to 1924). This horn has just been over-hauled by one of the top companies in the USA. It is BEAUTIFUL and plays wonderfully. This company is not cheap, but does high quality work and you can see by the pics that this horn is flawless...totally flawless and like new. It was originally done in satin silver and has been refinished in same. The wonderful engraving "CG Conn" and "USMQC" is clearly visible and highlighted in bright silver (see pics). This horn will need a small shank/short shank mouthpiece, depending on your embouchure. This is a low pitch horn. The serial number is 152450. Comes with the original case, which is in workable condition. I will give you free shipping and professionally wrapped for safety. You take this horn to a band rehearsal and people will not stop talking about it. Or just put in on display, it is a work of art (but that would be a shame as it plays and responds like a pro horn). IMO, the pics don't do this horn justice though, it is one of the best looking horns I've ever seen. Don't let this one get away. |
