Cowabunga, y'all! Here we have one of the kings of surf rock guitars. Now I know it's a copy of a Danelectro, but it's a good copy. And some folks would say it's better than the original. This one has also had some professional upgrades. The pickup is an active split coil with phase reverse. That's a lot of tonal variation out of one pickup. It also has a modern string through bridge that, with the deep neck profile gives the guitar an amazing amount of sustain and excellent intonation. The frets and fret board are in very good condition and the truss rod is functional. The action is low and even over the entire board and the upper neck is very playable. The finish has a nice aged cream patina and is, overall, in great condition. There are a number of small dings and scratches but no checking. The case is another story altogether. It's clean inside, really rough on the outside, and the top and sides had separated in several spots. I added a wood spline to the inside of the top, re-glued all of the seams I could, and added some screws to reinforce the hinge area. It doesn't look much better but it is solid. The scale length is 24 3/4" (630 mm) and the nut width is 1 5/8" (42 mm). If you're looking for an unusual vintage instrument that's stage ready and not a project this might be the one. These were only made a few years and not in large numbers so it's bound to increase in value in the coming years. Thanks for looking......
