Up for auction is a 1990 Ibanez AM400. I have own this guitar for 20 years. It is extremely rare model and very difficult to acquire. This one has seen a lot of club and studio dates and it shows. It plays and sounds great but it is by no means a collectors item as it has numerous cosmetic flaws but nothing that is more than cosmetic. If you want something that is mint or near mint , keep looking. This is a player. I have done my best to picture the key areas , but it is a white guitar so it is difficult to photo. The neck joint was stressed when it took a rough fall back in 98, it was repaired by a very note worthy luthier name Ross Teigen and has been stable ever sense. While the neck was not broken , it did get lose at the joint, so he fixed it so it was stable again. I have 11's on it right now and the action is really low, but not so much that it does not sound good. It could go lower but I prefer tone over a super low action set - up. So it's low now, but does not buzz, and that's how I like it. Truss rod works fine, neck is straight and solid. Electronics work as they should without issue, I really love this guitar but I want a new one so it has to go.It currently has Kent Armstrong pick ups in it which I prefer over the old stock ones, which were way too hot. They would distort far to easily for my taste. I am trying to get an AM200 that has the original pick ups in it , if you want those I will gladly offer them up as I will certainly put another set of Kent Armstrongs of possibly Gibson humbuckers in that guitar.
