This is by far my favorite uke to play.  I am not a very good player, but felt like I was, when strumming this one.  I have bought, cleaned, refurbished, resuscitated, played and sold many, many banjo ukes during the last 20 plus years and this is my favorite of all.  I have had "fancys", really good players, Ludwigs, Gibsons, and most of the other fine BU's. I am 84 and my playing days are over.  I want to get this one into somebody's hands who can appreciate playing quality, not just decoration.
This is obviously a special order UB, made sometime between 1917 and 1926 by "House of Stathopoulo", which later became Epiphone.  It is 22 1/2 inches long, the head measures 9 1/2 inches, the fingerboard is 7 inches long, it is 13 inches from nut to bridge.  It has well played, but still good, Aquilla strings, and a good leather? vellum. The planetary tuners look to be Grover prewar, but I'm not sure, I can't read it.   It has an arm rest.  This one is probably a "one of a kind".What makes me pretty sure that this was a special order banjo uke instead of a melody banjo is that the second string was doubled at the octave, making it an unconventional 5 string banjo, which would make picking unhandy.  The case is purtnear perfect and is period. Free shipping. If you don't like her (highly unlikely) I will gladly enjoy her coming back home.
