For auction is a "Master" or "Master Link" model alto saxophone mouthpiece made by Otto Link in New York. Originally these were produced between 1920 and 1935, and carrying a serial number of BB23 my best guess is that this was made around 1930-1931. This mouthpiece has the rare #2 facing, which was intended to give a rich, warm, dark tone. The Master model was Otto Link's first mouthpiece, and this is an excellent example. I have hand polished this only to clean, no buffing wheel was used that would round edges or remove metal. This mouthpiece is supplied with its original ligature.OK, for the legal stuff: The photographs shown are of the actual item being sold.
