Description
Brand: National Exact Year: 1937
Type: New Yorker Country/Region of Manufacture: United States

Up for auction is a 1937 7-string National New Yorker lap steel guitar with its original case. It's in really nice shape and the tuners work fine. The pickups work in all three settings (Chimes, Hawaiian and Harp), and the electronics work smoothly with no grounding issues. This is such a vibrant sounding and versatile lap steel. The awesome pickup and the original "underneath the fingerboard" pickups are unique to this model, and of course being a 7-string opens up alternate tuning options and sounds (it’s currently strung in open E with an added 7th).  - 3 pickups (blade at the bridge, 2 concealed pickups under the fretboard)  - 3-way "Hawaiian-Chimes-Harp" pickup selector, 1 master volume control  - Metal handrest  - Black celluloid fretboard with Roman numerical markers  - Inlaid shield logo  - Serial number stamped on the top edge of the headstock.  At some point in its history the fingerboard veneer was removed, probably to install a jack or repair something, and the veneer was cracked in a few places where you can see a glued line (see pics). There are some chip-outs in the veneer around a few top edges, please look at the pictures closely as they best describe the overall condition, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Seller accepts Paypal with a fixed rate of $50.00 to ship US only (fully insured). Thanks for looking and please check out my other auctions!
