There is one set of locking pins to link speakers together for fly rigging. THESE ARE NOT THE POLE MOUNTABLE VERSIONS. VRX928LA-WHis the ideal choice when line-arrayperformance is needed but the venuesize doesn’t call for the very long-throwcharacteristics of larger line-arrays suchas JBL’s VERTEC or VRX932LA-1WH.The Constant Curvature waveguidemounts two compression drivers on acontinuous arc. When additionalVRX928LA-WH speakers are added tothe array the uninterrupted arccontinues. In effect, all the drivers worktogether as if they were a single driveron a very long waveguide. Since thereare two HF drivers in eachVRX928LA-WH, the combined powerhandling and acoustic output of thesystem is far greater than a single drivercould achieve.VRX928LA-WH uses “amplitudeshading” to shape the coverage of thearray. Switches on the input plate allow,for example, the upper box in an arrayto reach the distant rear of a room whilethe lower box is shaded back to reduceexcessive level at the front of thelistening area.The integral rigging hardware is used to securely lock the array together.As many as six VRX928LA-WH speaker systems may be suspended in a singlearray for a nominal vertical coverage of up to 90°. Suspended applications requirethe JBL VRX-SMAF array frame (available separately). For applications in whichthe array must be aimed sharply down, a second Array Frame may be installed tothe bottom of the array serving as a pull-back.The VRX928LA-WH was designed for compatibility with VRX915S-WHsubwoofer.
