 No cracks, beautiful 22 piece Brazilian Rosewood back with its Domed Spruce Soundboard, Ebony Fretboard-perfectly straight. This wonderful mandolin also retains its Original Bone Nut and Bone Saddle, as well as Tailpiece.This rare and historically important Mandolin has a clear resonance one can hear on the video. It has Martin Mandolin strings mounted on it.The gears are the same as found on Gibson A Model Mandolins.This comes with the original Bowl Back Mandolin case, the latch to close it still works.Above the Carl C. Anderson Label is the additional Handwritten ink label:

Carl's name is also in pencil on the transverse brace above the sound hole.Samuel Adelstein was the leader of the Mandolin Orchestra in San Francisco in the late 19th century, and the author of the book: "Mandolin Memories".
Samuel saw the Estudiantina Figaro ensemble from Spain directed by Classical guitarist Carlos Garcia Tolsa (the favorite student of virtuoso Julian Arcas) perform in San Francisco in 1880-1881. At that time Carlos had his 1st song published: "Lejos de Ti" (Far from You) by M. Gray in San Francisco. Carlos' later works were published in Buenos Aires 1885-1890.
