Vintage Ludwig 60's Drum Kit, Restored

Ludwig early 60's 'Down Beat' kit in silver sparkle. The previous owner had the shells professionally restored and re-wrapped in original Delmar wrap, the same type and finish that that was used on them originally. The insides of shells have been repainted white, again same as before. All the work was done professionally by a renown vintage drum restoration expert Terry (I don't remember the surname). There are original holes in situ where the consolette rail was on the bass drum and the baseball bat style dampers on toms. These parts are easily obtainable as there are several companies that make replicas but I didn't feel the need. The bracket for mounting a cymbal arm on the bass drum is quite handy. The badges are from the era prior to serial numbers, so it was produced some time between 1961 and 1964. The exact date stamp on the insides of shells has been covered by the new paint. It's hard to say anything that hasn't already been said about these drums. With their wonderful warm sound they are truly a joy to play. The sizes are very versatile, tuned down low they pack a punch and cranked up, they sing. They will work in almost any genre. They look so cool too, the photos just don't do them any justice. The shells are 3-ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany with 1” solid reinforcement rings and round bearing edges. This makes them very light, easy to lug around. The hardware, cymbals and snare on the main picture are not included in the sale. I also have a spare plain white Remo bass drum head without a hole for the front. I'm sad to see them go but I just don't take them out of the house as much as I use my other two kit workhorses. Pickup from Barnet, North London would be preferable but I could post them in the hardcases if necessary. If you intend to bid from abroad, please contact me first. NO RESERVE!
