XEROS - Octave Mandolin - Special Design (believed to be a one-off) This Oakwood Octave Mandolin has been little used and is in excellent condition. It is a stunningly beautiful instrument made with Birdseye Maple for the neck and back insert, Imbuia back and sides and a Cedar Soundboard. The triple slots on each side project the wonderfully mellow sound very effectively, acting like large F-holes. It has a compact design with a 21 inch scale length, nut width of 1 7/16 inch, 13 inch body width, 15 inch body length and 3 inch body depth.   It has a 26 Fret Ebony fretboard with snowflake abalone markers and lovely detailing with light wood binding front and back with rope pattern purfling on the front and striped purfling on the back. The tailpiece has a wooden cover. The combination of Cedar and Imbuia give a fine quality clear but mellow tone. It has good intonation throughout its wide range.
